Guest guest
Hi guys, I'm 18 months post lap RNY, never had problems since month 1, able to eat just about anything. About 1 week ago I started having pouch pain (no radiating pain, stays in the pouch) after eating about 4 bites of food. I researched ulcers and it doesn't sound like one. Unlike ulcers, I feel better with an empty stomach and water/liquid does not hurt, nor taste metallic. All my usual foods hurt the pouch and it kinda comes in waves of more intense pouch pain if I don't stop eating, then it subsides and goes away in about an hour. I also feel like I have one more bite that hasn't quite gone down. Partial blockage this far out? My gallbladder was removed a few years ago. Medications taking: Vioxx (one a day since early post-op) Claritin and Ambien x 1 mo. I've read where Vioxx can cause ulcers, but this doesn't sound like an ulcer. I'm planning on calling the surgeon tomorrow but thought I'd ask the board if anyone had any thoughts or experienced something similar, so that I can clue in the doc. Thanks, Cindy. Guest guest
No, no silastic ring..I did hear from a few off line and one person said that there are some ulcers that have symptoms when you eat. I had always heard the opposite, that you felt pain on an empty stomach and eating made it feel better. I'm calling the surgeon this morning... Cindy > > Cindy, do you have a Silastic Ring.
