the best news of the year (at least for me)

because you've all become so close - i thought i should share my

wonderful news...I GOT ENGAGED TODAY!!! that's right. missing tooth

and all...my boyfriend of ten years proposed ) i'm so happy i

can't contain myself!!! i'm still in jersey at my parents

house...but when i get back to the city tomorrow i'll try to post a

pic (not like you guys are dying to see it...but i'm definitely dying

to show it off ) i'm so excited by the whole thing - and it

really lifted my spirits right before the big day.

sara - i wanted to say again good luck! i'm sure your man's heart

will be with you no matter where he is ) besides, my fiance

(wahoo - my " fiance " ...i can't stop smiling) is almost dreading

sitting in a waiting room with my mom for five hours. being as i've

had surgeries since a few weeks of age - she's what we all

affectionately call a " surgery mom " - kind of like a " stage mom " but

worse. she will inevitably ask to speak to the hospital director

(once because plaster fell on my head during surgery, once because

they switched the anethesiologist at the last minute, once because

they lost my pregnancy test...the list goes on). the only problem is

this time i work at the hospital i'm having surgery at. we all know

that it's just her dealing with anxiety...but it does make for a fun

filled afternoon. hopefully it will all go over without a hitch this

time...but who knows )

i'm really happy i found this site - i feel like every emotion in the

past few weeks has been amplified a million-fold from pre-surgery

jitters. i think you guys are the only ones who could understand.
