Guest guest
maybe they have your medicine in liquid form. if not maybe in something you can crush. not to worry, i'm sure there is something you can take, if you'll still need it. laurette
Guest guest
the only problem with that is depending on the size of the pill. i was told by my surgeon and nutrienist that we can't swallow anything that can't fit through a straw. our opening to our new pouch is only that big so we have to be very careful in what we swallow. thats why my multi-vitamin and calcium are chewables and my b12 is sublinqual (meaning i place it under my tongue and it disolves). was taught that if it was bigger than that straw opening it would have to be crushed and mixed with something. i have to do that with my potassium. i take capsules, i open them up and put it in cottage cheese or yogart then take it. now that i'm almost 4 months out i can take a tylenol caplet but wasn't able to for the first couple months out, could only do the liquid tylenol. something to think about and as always check with your doctor before taking anything. laurette 4/23/04 open rny 309/290/240/

Guest guest
If you didn't have a problem swallowing pills before you should be able to take them or break them in half if that is not a problem with the pill I know some cannot be broken. I have a problem swallowing pills period so this has been an experience - try to get a pill down with a teaspoon of water - aaggh. I crushed the pain pills and took them in water, cause I just couldn't swallow them I would gag, dance around and try over and over. You need to discuss this with your doctor, you won't be the first one who must continue to take medication after the surgery and he will know how to help you keep your medication on track. anne Congrats. I know that you were ecstatic about loosing that hateful CPAP. I can't wait until that

Guest guest
I'm on the machine too and I hate it as well. They say you will get use to it but I haven't yet. I have only been on it for 3 weeks but I can't wait for the day I will be off it. My Doctor said the majority of time when you lose weight you lose the sleep apnea. I hope I am one of those people. I just want to sleep on my stomach again : ) Dora McCary wrote: Congrats. I know that you were ecstatic about loosing that hateful CPAP. I can't wait until that dreadful machine is out of my life.
