Can anybody give me some suggestions? You could try Digestive wellness, or make your own. Although, I never manage to make pecan FLOUR. It always turns into butter. Guest guest
Also, from our handy-dandy website list, pecan flour: nutsonline.com, mopecans.com I believe Alyssa is one of the lucky ones with a Vitamix- no wonder her nuts turn to butter so fast! I could wait all day for mine in my cheap food processor. Sounds like I'll have to make a trip to costco! -Joanna > > > > > I want to purchase the walnut/pecan flour online, but I am not sure > > > what website to use. Guest guest
that's what I use too- not getting same results though :-(Huh, weird. Do you use raw pecans? I've just recently started soaking/dehydrating my pecans before grinding, and that makes it turn into butter even quicker, but even when I didn't soak my pecans I got butter pretty easily. Guest guest
i thought soaking caused mold?Only if you don't dehydrate them properly. I have an excalibur and I dehydrate them for over 24 hours, so I'm not too worried about any residual moisture =) Cheers!Alyssa 16 yo UC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)Azathioprine 75 mg 1x per dayPrednisone 15 mg 1x per day (trying to wean!!!!) Guest guest
Umm, their stuff looks great! I never saw pecan oil before, and as far as I am concerned pecans are the #1 best nut (this may have to do with my parents both growing up in the South!. I was much astonished some years after marriage to find DH thinks walnuts are the best nuts!) Marilyn, have you used pecan oil? I ask because some nut oils (like walnut) seem a bit overwhelming to me, though I must say my olive oil does not. Maybe I'm just used to that. >I want to purchase the walnut/pecan flour >online, but I am not sure what website to use. >Can anybody give me some suggestions? http://www.sunnylandfarms.com/store/subcategories/Fancy-Pecan-Meal High quality, fast service, free shipping in the continental US. — Marilyn

I haven't (yet) used pecan oil, but I was considering getting a bit to make pecan butter with if I needed to add any additional oil. I tend to be very ordinary in my use of oils -- coconut, safflower or sunflower, olive... that's about it. Oh, and I do use sesame oil and toasted sesame oil in CHinese style dishes instead of soy sauce. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
That's what I wanted it for, making pecan butter. I really only have olive and coconut oils, plus almond but I better ignore that for awhile because I finally figured out last week my almond butter was giving me the splitting headaches. I'll give all nuts a bit of a rest and then I think pecans will be fine. And I love my nut butter! Guest guest
I finally figured out last week my almond butter was giving me the splitting headaches. =( That stinks!! I'm glad you figured out the culprit, though. Hopefully this means no more headaches! Guest guest
Thanks for the sympathy. There's good news and bad news. The good news is that I haven't had a headache since I quit the almond butter (and all nut stuff). The bad news is, I miss it! Oh well, maybe later. > I finally figured out last week my almond butter was giving me the > splitting headaches. =( That stinks!! I'm glad you figured out the culprit, though.
