Guest guest
Best of luck Judy. Try and relax and let the pro's do their thing. I had a 2 night post-op stay in the hospital too which was fine. The morphine ensured I was very, very comfortable throughout. The Dr. and nurses were very attentive and the constant monitoring has helped me recover very well so far. You'll do fine. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Constantine > Hi everyone, > Well tomorrow is the day of my surgery! I'm having upper, lower and > genioplasty done and am nervous to say the least. Guest guest
Hello Judy, Good luck tomorrow!!! I am 39 years old and I had the surgery on June 2nd. I didn't experience too much pain. I stayed in the hospital for 2 days. While in the hospital I was given a steroid for the swelling. I experienced a lot of swelling on the 4th day and I was miserable. The main problem I have found with the surgery is that you are uncomfortable. (not in any pain) I haven't taken any pain medicine since the 3rd. day. Guest guest
Judy, good luck tomorrow!! I had surgery the 15th and the day before was the worst!! I had the worst feeling in my stomach all day. And then sitting at the hospital for an hour and a half waiting to get my IV was crazy too. My legs were shaking. As for the hospital thing, let them keep you as long as possible. Its not a bad thing. At least then you have the IV for all your meds instead of taking the gross liquids. Im only 19 so I cant say much about the age factor. I know my surgeon told me the surgery would be 4-7 hours long and it only took 3 1/2. Maybe that will be the case for you too. The pain isnt too bad. I am not as numb as I thought I would be, so my pain is probably worse than most peoples. It is just a lot of pressure, but the pain med or motrin helps a lot. And so does ice. As for working out, I am a dance teacher and I am gonna go crazy not dancing for 4-8 weeks!! We'll just have to see how long I last before I go back to easy stuff!! Well, I wish you the best tomorrow! Take as much time as you need to rest, but make sure you eventually post an update!!!! ~~ > Hi everyone, > Well tomorrow is the day of my surgery! Guest guest
Will do! And thanks ....you've helped calm me down a bit. Twelve hours from now I am heading into surgery...so will report back to everyone once I am able. Speedy and easy healing to those needing it in the group. Guest guest
Thanks Fay! I'll let you and everyone know how it went as soon as I can. I am pretty nervous now! Twelve hours to surgery, and I cannot SLEEP! So, thought I'd get on the computer but now I am going to sign off. If I left anyone else out that replied to my nervous post earlier..thanks for your support, and I'll be in touch. Thanks for all the support it's been really, really great. Now, if I could ONLY get some sleep...LOL Judy > > Hi everyone, > > Well tomorrow is the day of my surgery! I'm having upper, lower > and > > genioplasty done and am nervous to say the least.
