Guest guest
This topic is often discussed at Pecanbread and other forums related to autism, chronic fatigue, lyme, etc. We just started this protocol and I really think it is working, so I wanted to share what I shared at Pecanbread this morning for those of you that have stalled on the diet and want to take it to the next level of healing. If you Google Biofilm Protocol you will see it is a developing area for the treatment of dysbiosis. Please do your own research and go low-and-slow if you try this, I just thought I would share. Well I am certainly not an expert on this, just a mommy on a mission like the rest of you. I took Ellen's biofilm protocol advice and I am slowly tapering on. For step 1, Ellen said she started with her regular enzymes on an empty stomach. Since I have read proteases can be tough on an injured gut we started with No-Fenol - it has no proteases and many report yeast symptoms improving with the use of this enzyme on an empty stomach. I just purchased Mucostop since it is very similar to SPS-30 and I could not determine if SPS-30 was completely legal. I also purchased Interfase (the regular kind, not Interfase Plus with EDTA - I have read good things about it even without the EDTA and I am not very brave yet. Note: not for people with egg-white allergies). In the future I will add Candidase and purchase Nattokinase and probably Lumbrokinase, but one thing at a time. I would definitely be careful with too many proteases on an empty little tummy!!! Right now we are doing No-Fenol on an empty stomach for step 1, then for step 2, 30-60 mins later she gets 2 drops OoO and 1/3 cap OLE. She also has a little coconut oil with her meal. We are already getting die-off at this point (not tons, she is still a pretty happy kid but icky poop), so I am going to hold steady until this levels off a little. I plan on upping the doses, and adding uva-ursi, monolaurin, GSE if I can get it into her somehow, etc. I will rotate both the enzymes and the antimicrobials/antifungals. We haven't needed charcoal for step 3, but I have it on hand. Usually this protocol is repeated twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon (I believe between lunch and dinner, antimicrobials with a snack). I am doing this routine first thing in the morning, but adding a little OLE with lunch and considering it at dinner too - her baddies seem to act up in a matter of hours and the bloat starts up again so that might keep them under control. They can't feed on her food very well it is accompanied by killers. For step 4, we do her regular probiotics with dinner (for now, perhaps to be replaced by OLE soon) and before bed. We started this a week ago and her belly is less distended even though I have increased her proportion of veggies in relation to meat significantly (I was not comfortable with the amount of meat she was eating but the veggies used to cause major bloating - not anymore). She is suddenly sleeping sooooooooo well (used to get up at 6 or 7, now 8 or 9!)and she is even happier during the day to my surprise. Taking it slow probably makes all the difference. BTW, I am doing this along with her, at much larger doses. I need it too, and I figure it will give me a better sense of what is going on in her body. I am actually staying a few steps ahead of her so I can determine what to do with her next. I will keep you guys posted on our progress. Feedback is appreciated! My poor kid is a science experiment (maybe lucky mom has a science background, LOL), but I think the results are favorable so far!!!
