Guest guest
I am 6 weeks post op, and I finally had my wires cut today. After he cut the wires, the doctor told me to open my mouth. I told him I was opening it and he said to try harder. It felt like I had my mouth wide open, but it wasn't even open far enough to stick my tongue out. Very strange feeling. The cutting of the wires didn't hurt, and if I didn't open too far (more than a couple of mm) then it doesn't hurt. I still have my splint on and 2 rubber bands in front holding me together. I go back tomorrow for him to look at me and make sure that the muscles aren't pulling everything out of whack. If everything is okay, then I will get my splint removed on Monday. I will be sure to keep it so I can take pictures to post so that people know what they look like. I am pretty sore right now, but I have been talking a lot today. I will let you all know how tomorrow goes. Almost there,
Guest guest
!!!! That is awesome!!!!!! How liberating, huh? I'm sure it's going to take a while to be able to open up any decent amount considering you havent' used your mouth for 6 weeks! Heck, I'm not even wired, and I can't open more than a finger's worth. > I am 6 weeks post op, and I finally had my wires cut today. After he > cut the wires, the doctor told me to open my mouth. Guest guest
, I am SO excited for you!!! So, you can barely open, eh? Interesting. And your splint is still in? I see. I'm just thinking ahead to my own unwiring on the 29th. I wonder how it will be! Enjoy your new found freedom ... but don't overdo it! I'll look forward to hearing how tomorrow goes ... and then how Monday goes. You're doing great! Congrats!!! Carol > I am 6 weeks post op, and I finally had my wires cut today.
