Don't know about overkill, but it certainly sounds like he's hedging his

bets. They're not as redundant as they may seem. Flaxseed is high in omega 3's,

which we need to counteract the high amount of omega 6's present in the average

diet, and it provides good fiber as well. Fish oil has some stuff not present

in flax, such as DEA and EPA (essential fatty acids). All are supposed to help

regulate cholesterol. CoQ10 and baby aspirin are heart protectants: high

cholesterol is linked to heart disease. Before I'd go with Zocor, (I'm REALLY

anti-drug) I'd see how the other stuff works, and spend an hour a day in

relatively strenuous exercise. A daily glass of red wine is also purported to

reduce

cholesterol.

Actually, it depends on what your husband feels is overkill. The fish

oil is for the cholesterol. The flax seed oil is generally used to keep

regular although I am sure there are other benefits. The COQ10 may be

used for either arthritis or cholesterol. If your husband thinks it is

overkill, aske him to talk to his doctor about it.
