They're not as redundant as they may seem. Flaxseed is high in omega 3's, which we need to counteract the high amount of omega 6's present in the average diet, and it provides good fiber as well. Fish oil has some stuff not present in flax, such as DEA and EPA (essential fatty acids). All are supposed to help regulate cholesterol. CoQ10 and baby aspirin are heart protectants: high cholesterol is linked to heart disease. Before I'd go with Zocor, (I'm REALLY anti-drug) I'd see how the other stuff works, and spend an hour a day in relatively strenuous exercise. The flax seed oil is generally used to keep regular although I am sure there are other benefits. The COQ10 may be used for either arthritis or cholesterol. If your husband thinks it is overkill, aske him to talk to his doctor about it.
