Shiloh,

I had surgery in October 03 for a palatal expander and I swelled

horribly. They never said at that point that my kids couldn't see

me. They came to pick me up and did fine.

I have been preparing them for this for a while and showed them some

pictures. They won't be alone with me. Either my husband or my

mother will be here with them and me. I was a bit upset when she told

me that. My feeling is if they want to see me they should be able

to. It think it's worse to keep them from me. As long as they are

prepared for what they are going to see, it shouldn't be that bad.

Thanks for the info!

Heal well.

Dee,

I was a bit upset when she told me that. My feeling is if they want to

see me they should be able to.

=I think it would be more traumatic for them to have you missing, kids

know when stuff is going on...they need to see you are okay and what

healing and recovery looks like so they will not be afraid if they

ever have to have surgery etc.

It think it's worse to keep them from me. As long as they are

prepared for what they are going to see, it shouldn't be that bad.

-Absolutely! Especially for the little one. Kids are smart and not

traumatized by much...my mom is far more traumatized than my kids.
