Guest guest
It's Day 5 and I am finally home after my post-op appointment earlier today and a looooong day at the airport. (Eight hours -- my flight was canceled.) The surgeon was very happy with my progress (and my oral hygiene, yay.). He let me switch from doubled bands to single, which means I can talk! I don't feel like such a freak now. I got to see my before-and-after X-rays and the difference is small but noticeable. It's weird to see the surgical incisions and three screws on each side. I feel that my appearance has not changed much at all, although the back of my jaw seems wider. My swelling is nearly gone now and I'm not quite sure what is swelling and what is my new face. I wanted to share a massage tool that I have found to be wonderful on my sore, achy face over the last few days. I have a collection of a dozen or so massage tools but am so glad I recently added this one! It's part of the True Blue Spa line at Bath and Body Works. It's a blue, marbly, hard plastic ball inside a blue, soft plastic " cup. " It cost $18 but I got it as part of a buy-one-get-one-free deal. The ball rolls around inside the cup and has felt soooo nice on my face. I also did some of the MLD-type strokes that we talked about earlier, but the ball felt nicer and more efficient to me (and easier on the hands). Has anyone heard from Suzy/Vhurgo? She should have had her surgery by now, and as we were " buddies, " I'm anxious to hear how she's doing.
