Elyte vs Elyte Sport - are they both legal?

I was going to order some Elyte concentrate from BodyBio but I saw they have a

product called Elyte Sport. It costs $1 more than regular Elyte but makes 27

more servings. That's a big savings difference.

The ingredients look the same, and this is what I found about the difference

between the two:

" How does E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate differ from ElyteSport?

ElyteSport was designed for athletes & has a higher sodium content for high

performance, since athletes tend to use up electrolytes rapidly during intense

activity. "

Do you think it would be okay to have the Elyte Sport drink even though I don't

work out? I mean, I live in FL and start sweating just by walking to my car at

work, not to mention mowing the yard, or surfing twice a month. What do you

think?

The ElyteSport contains more sodium than the regular ELyte, but in my opinion

the regular ELyte contains plenty of sodium. I would start off with that one

and see how you do. Remember you may not need to use the full amount of the

recommended dose, so the bottle may last you even longer than you expect.

However if you feel that you are more physically active than is average, then

you could certainly use the ElyteSport. I think either one will work, so it

will end up being a trial of one or the other or both for you to decide which

works best for you.

I have issues with my stomach rejecting any liquid containing too much sodium

(and some other minerals too) so I purchase the regular Elyte and use much less

than the recommended dose. A bottle lasts me a long time [grin] -- about a year

per bottle (I have one at home and one at work). I generally need 4 to 8 glass

of Elyte per week, depending on my level of physical activity. I, too, live in

a hot and humid climate (central Gulf Coast), so in the summer I go through a

lot more ELyte than during the winter. Plus I make my own electrolyte drink to

supplement the magnesium and potassium I need more frequently than I need the

sodium and other minerals contained in ELyte.

Always a balancing act. And we always seem to need to run our own trials of

things to determine what our bodies tolerate and do better with. [sigh] Never

know exactly how our bodies will behave until we try something.

They are both, so far as I have been able to determine, SCD-legal.

I use the regular E-Lyte because anything with too much sodium in it sets

off my surgery-related lymphedema, and having my feet and legs twice the

size they should be is No Fun.

I can tell you that while I don't dilute as much as, say, Kim M does, I

don't use as much as they suggest, and so, a bottle can last me some

time.

It's expensive, but I ordered 6 bottles the last time, which has proved

to be a good thing. Harry has discovered that if he orders onion strings

when we're out, he gets leg-cramps from all the salt, and a dose of the

E-lyte, with the higher magnesium and potassium, calms things down right

away.

Thank you Kim and Marilyn!

I think I will go with the regular and maybe buy 2 of the large bottles at once

to make better use of the shipping money.

Yes. I twitch over the amount of shipping to the amount of product I'm

getting. It's especially tough when you are trying a new product, and you

don't want to buy too much, in case you don't like or can't tolerate it,

but at the same time, the ratio of shipping to product...! Argh!
