Guest guest
The explanation that I have heard is that the vagus nerve, which influences production of mucus somehow (can you tell how scientific I am?), runs right next to the stomach. When the pouch is full, it puts pressure on the vagus nerve and stimulates a runny nose. This phenomenon is apparently very widespread. It happens to me - I sneeze after almost every meal, and have to go blow my nose. Came in very handy during the first few months when many types of food just wouldn't stay down - I could excuse myself to go blow my nose and get rid of the offending food. --- 365/199/160 Lap RnY, Distal - Dr. s Vanderbilt University Hospital Surgery date June 3, 2002 runny nose upoon overeating > What is up with that. Guest guest
I can relate to getting a runny water nose after eating. I don`t have to be too full to have it either! I wondering if it relates to pressure on the vagus nerve, I have heard other online talk about.??? I dunno!!! N.
