Guest guest Posted May 29, 2005 Report Share Posted May 29, 2005 Carol, i was worried about losing a lot of wieght myself after my srugery. As an athlete, i knew that there are things in health nutrition stores that are used to gain weight or supplement regular food. I went out and asked around, talked to the people at a few health food stores and i ended up buying a big tub of protien powder. The powder i bought is different from the regualr protien powders in that in additioin to protien which is essential to maintaining and building muscles, or providing enough building blocks to repair tissue damage, i made sure that the powder i bought also contained plenty of fats and carbs. The body needs these fats and carbs to burn as fuel throughout the day. Nonetheless, i've lost 8 pounds after just over 2 weeks now and have stabilized the weight loss. Now, my biggest challenge is to feed myself enough calories to fuel my daily activites without feeling too burnt out at the end of the day. that's my story. .. cheers

& nbsp;

derrick

& gt;From: miss_redagain2005 & lt;no_reply & gt;
& gt;Reply-To: orthognathicsurgerysupport
& gt;To: orthognathicsurgerysupport
& gt;Subject: [Orthognathic Surgery Support ] [Orthognathic Surgery Support ] Re: Food dur
& gt;Date: Sun, 29 May 2005 13:05:43 -0000
& gt;
& gt;Sara,
& gt;Thanks, I'll try that. Carnation Instant Breakfast comes in flavors
& gt;like cappucino (don't know if i'm spelling that correctly) so you can
& gt;always try that. I had one yesterday - not bad. It tasted like
& gt;coffee ice cream.
& gt;At this point, I've lost 11 pounds. I crave food to the point where
& gt;I'd almost rather have put on 11 pounds - if only I could eat.
& gt;But, I've just been having a couple of rough days. I know I don't
& gt;really mean that.
& gt;Trying to keep my chin up,
& gt;Carol
& gt;
& gt;
& gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; another good one involves tofu. .. tofu is great for protien
& gt; & gt; and
& gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; it's very
& gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; healthy for your body. try half a cup of silken tofu, a cup
& gt;of
& gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; milk, a
& gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; tablespoon of peanut butter, 2 bananas, and a tablespoon of
& gt; & gt; & gt; honey.
& gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; it's a
& gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; sweet meal, but it's a change and the peanut butter is
& gt;actually
& gt; & gt; a
& gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; very
& gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; subtle flavour in the shake. i'll keep them coming as i
& gt;think
& gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; about more..
& gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; . see ya
& gt;
& gt;
& gt;
Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest guest Posted July 16, 2005 Report Share Posted July 16, 2005 Have I missed something, or have we not heard from the young man with the question about telling of his cocaine use? Just wondering how he made out. His surgery was scheduled the following day, I believe. Are you out there?? Just wondering how you are...........
