Andie,

My surgeon actually tucked my nose in during the advancement because

it had widened so much. I think you should wait 6-9 months (that's

what the surgeon told me) to assess how you feel about your new

nose...and if you're not happy then think about adjusting it. You've

come this far - there's nothing wrong with wanting to look perfect (at

least that's what I've been told).

Good luck :o)

  • 1 month later...

My nose is awful now [4 weeks post op]much much broader and huge

upturned nostrils ,shorter,I really liked my nose before,I would

have been very happy with the results if not for my nose now i'm

just very dissapointed. Hopefully its just swelling as it has gone

down somewhat over the weeks but if it stays like this im definately

having a nose job as I look worse instead of better.

Hello,

I haven't had surgery but I'm thinking about it and my nose looking different is

my biggest concern. If I have it, I will have both upper and lower jaw surgery

(I'm not sure what you had since I'm still not familiar with the medical terms

everone uses).

My friend also had jaw surgery and her nose did change significantly. It

doesn't look awful but it was much nicer before.

Thank you for sharing this with us. I'm a little upset that my surgeon or

orthondontist did not mention the nose change when I had a consultation. If I

had known, I would have not agreed to the surgery so rapidly.

Good luck!

I was told at the beginning of my " journery " through jaw surgery that if i had

my upper jaw moved then my nose would look even smaller ( I had a very small

nose to begin with),but my surgeon came up with an other option it was more

complicated and a longer surgery

My DD had surgery August 13th. The Doctor said he did a soft tissue

reduction at the base of her nose and lengthened her upper lip as

her upper lip was rather short. She looks very good and very cute.

Her nose looks better now than even before. I think the results

depend on the surgeon.
