Guest guest
Jennie, Are you on any blood pressure meds? Or do you have any problems with blood sugar? You might be having low BP or low sugar. If you can tolerate dairy, milk is a good way to raise blood sugar quickly rather than the apple or orange juices which are alot of natural sugar in one serving. Don't want to trade in low sugar for possible dumping. Good luck to you, Kathy fiance Rich open RNY 8/5/

You might want to check with your doctor. Dumping is caused by eating something sweet. I think for dumping you just have to ride it out...I don't know if there is anything to relieve it. Sounds pretty nasty. Kathy fiance Rich open RNY 8/5/
Guest guest
I am not on any meds. Never really had a problem with low blood sugar. I really don't like milk, outside of cereal, but I will try it. -- Re: feeling lightheaded Jennie, Are you on any blood pressure meds? Or do you have any problems with blood sugar? Milk is good to raise sugar levels without it going way up. A bit of fruit might be good too. I might skip the juice since it's highly concentrated natural sugar. Guest guest
I know it is not dumping, nothing sweet going down. I know it is lack of food, and or drink. I drink water all day, but nothing else. Maybe I should mix in other drinks, just to keep my blood sugar up. -- Re: feeling lightheaded > i think that is called dumping isnt that? Guest guest
Jennie, Do you eat protein supplements in addition to your meals? Kathy > I know it is not dumping, nothing sweet going down. Guest guest
I do not eat much at all. Not even a full meal. A couple bites of chicken breast or turkey and I am done. And lately the chicken is not appealing. I am probably not eating enough. Defiantly not getting in the required protein amount. I got sick two weeks ago, I think from over doing it at the gym. Wasn't able to tolerate anything, either it came up or didn't go down, since then, I cut way back on how much I eat. Not that it was much to begin with. Everything everyone has suggested makes sense. I didn't realize how I had cut back on things, like protein drinks. The essentials to making it. Sometimes I get so caught up in losing all the weight, that I become obsessed at it, like my workout routine, that I forget that I need to take care of me too. I think that the few bites of something that I do eat, is enough for the day. You forget that you need to eat it to burn it off. Guest guest
Hey Jennie! That could be a sign for a number of different things. When I get lightheaded it usually means that I have not been drinking enough and I'm getting dehydrated. You will recognize signals that your body is telling you a lot easier as time goes on. I waited until about 4 months to try OJ. My surgeon told me I'm not going to know if it is okay to drink if I don't try it. I don't drink OJ too often, but once it a while. Hope I could help a little bit. Let us know how you are. in Delaware Lap RNY 3/10/04 261/171/
