Guest guest
> Quick question for you...why endoscopy? Hi Alyssa- My doctor requires an endoscopy to check for a bacteria called H. Pylori. They do a biopsy and if you have it, you are put on an antibiotic for 2 weeks. My understanding is that by treating this bacteria you may be less likely for infection later on. When I talked to my gastroenterologist he mentioned a side benefit may be when you tube goes down your throat (yikes) it stretches the esophogus and may help swallowing etc after the surgery. Most DS surgeons don't require this procedure, but mine does (sigh) Looking forward to having this part over and done with...eeek Take care,

Guest guest
Alyssa, I swear it feels like I've spent the six months just focused on the DS, instead of work! Once you're switched, you'll be back for advice, but spend a lot less time obsessing! I look forward to going back to work and working like I normally do Hopefully my bowels will cooperate by then! Guest guest
Re: ongoing problem with D. Have you done a yeast check lately - because of the problemwith the ongoing use of steroids creating a yeast situation with people with compromisedgut. Are you taking s. boulardii?I haven't because my parents wouldn't let me do a yeast diet anyways. I have been taking boulardii though, and I try to eat a lot of VCO, garlic, probiotics, etc... I started taking lactoferrin, but it gave me more D (die off?) so I had to stop. As soon as I'm done with the boulardii though, we're doing a stool test that tests for levels of different bacteria, yeast, etc...
