Guest guest
DD has a Hanger, it was closest one to us and covered by insurance. We have had no problems at all she has had it for 3 months. The orthotist has been doing this for 4 years and seems to know what she is doing. We have seen a lot of improvement in her head. The only negative I have about Hanger is their office is a bit run down and could use sme renovations but not a big deal. > > I've read a lot about DOC bands vs starbands, but it doesn't seem like people talk about Hanger bands very much. Hanger is the closest to me and probably the one we're going to go with... I'm just curious what others experiences are. What are the pros and cons of Hanger bands? > > Thanks, > ( & , 5.5 months with torticollis and plagiocephaly) >
Guest guest
Our daughter also has a Hanger band (we use the sville NC office) and we have been super pleased and her correction has just amazed us She started at 5.5 months (4 months adjusted. I also was concerned about not as much info about the Hanger band and did lots of research... we had an eval at Cranial Tech and were honestly not as impressed as I expected to be from the reviews I had read. We would be driving 1.5 hours to the Charlotte area regardless and explored the Hanger, Starband and DocBand options. Our daughters case is mild/moderate so I felt that any improvement would be great and Hanger was completely covered by our insurance. I agree that the Hanger facility is not as " fancy " as the CT office but the orthos we have worked with have been top notch. She started at 9 or 10 mm asymmetry and improved to 7 within the first week of her " break in " period of wear, we just went yesterday and after a little more than 4 weeks of wear she is already at 4mm!!!! Our ortho said that after our next 2 week adjustment she would probably got to nights and naps only I know that some people also think the Hanger band is larger and not as visually pleasing but I gotta say she looks just adorable in it.. we got in pink (no need to paint anything) and ordered a vinyl transfer sticker of her monogram and put it across the front... too cute > > > > I've read a lot about DOC bands vs starbands, but it doesn't seem like people talk about Hanger bands very much. Guest guest
My daughter also went to Hanger and had a STARband - we were thrilled with our quick and exceptional results for her plagiocephaly, in 6 weeks she went from 11mm to 0mm. Our orthotist was very knowledgeable and experienced which I think helps a lot. I was very nervous about going with Hanger after reading everything on here about the DOCband... but our experience with Hanger was fantastic! Good Luck!
