Guest guest
So, it's been over three weeks now. I still haven't sneezed. It was something I was concerned about before I had my surgery. Yawning is difficult enough, but I have been forever worried about sneezing. When I feel like I'm about to - and this has happened about 5 times so far - I open my eyes really wide, hum, clap, shake my head ... whatever I can to stop the sneezing. I know I'm being paranoid. But, I can't help it. Would anyone be willing to share a sneezing experience with me - that was wired and splinted shut? Thanks in advance! Guest guest
Carol, That was something that I was totally worried about. I live in CA and have REALLY bad seasonal allergies. I shared my concerns with my surgeon and assured me it would be fine. Just " sneeze through your mouth " is what everyone said. So, for 5 days after surgery, and ground up Allegra pills every day, I had not sneezed. Then, on Tuesday morning, I felt one coming on. I was home alone and already not breething too well out of my nose. But, there was no stopping this sneeze. As it crept further and further up, I just relaxed and opened my lips as far as I could (like a big cheesey smile) and let it go. To surprise, it was no big deal. I have had other sneezes since then and they have not been any trouble at all. I am even more willing to go outside now and not worry about allergies that much. Just relax, open your lips and let it out. No big deal. Have a good weekend! > So, it's been over three weeks now. I still haven't sneezed. Guest guest
, Thanks for addressing my very silly question, very seriously. I guess next time I feel a sneeze coming on - I'll just go with it ... and sneeze " through my mouth " ! Thanks again, Carol > > So, it's been over three weeks now. I still haven't sneezed.
