I'm 17 days post-op and I've noticed that the swelling has actually

gotten WORSE over the past 2 days, and it was almost entirely better.

Anyone have this experience? Maybe I was getting to agressive with

eating/talking.

If the sweeling continues to get worse, or is accompanied by fever

or bleeding, I would contact your surgeon right away. THis could

mean infection. I asked my OS at my last visit if I did not have to

worry about infection anymore because my incision sites have healed.

He emphatically stated that there is still a threat of infection

until I am 100% healed. Just keep a close eye on the swelling, and

inform your surgeon about your concerns.

I am 18 days post op, and almost all of my swelling is gone, and it

gets better with each passing day. However, I do find that I am in a

little more pain than I was originally. Could be because I cut back

on the amount of meds. I am taking.

Yup, that happened to me after 5 weeks post-op, when I went back to

work and started doing some mega overtime (14 hour days for a week). I

was having trouble talking (words slurring), I got very weak and

trembly, and it turned out that my mouth was all swelling up inside

again. I took 3 days off work (luckily over a weekend) to recover, but

I vowed never again to beat myself up with overtime like that again.
