Well he can't just take you off the Pred, without putting you on another drug, that's what I would be asking, let him know how you feel, tell him just what you told us.  I really think you need to be on another drug.  I got put on Plaquanil, and that was helpful, but still couldn't come completely off the Pred. until I was put on Methotrexate, and I was able to come off the Pred.  I did well on the Plaquanil and Methotrexate, for a few years, so maybe even something like that.  I am not on those two drugs and Remicade, and my doc took me off the Methotrexate when my liver enzymes went up, then, and then tried taking me off the Plaquanil, but my skin went crazy and he put back on it, and when my liver enzymes got better put me back on the Methotrexate, so like I said, I'm on all three now, and they are helping me the most.

If he just takes you off the Pred. your symptoms may very well come back!  MarlaJust one day at a time, That's all God ask of us. for there never really is a tomorrow, as that too

is just today:)

Hi All,

My doctor called me at home last week and said that he had talked with another doctor about me and they decided to start weening me off the pred. So, I am going down from 5 weeks at 100 mg a day to:

(reducing each week to):

60

40

30

20

Then once I get to 20 - I go down every 5 days to:

15

10

5

4

3

2

1

I will be finally off Dec. 16th. I have noticed that my eyesight in the eye affected has gone down - worse vision. Also, today I feel tired, it is hard to hold my head up a bit and I was hot and dizzy. But I did have that when I was on the 100 mg a day sometimes too - just not the reduction in the sight though.

So, what do you folks think?

KP
