Guest guest
It's also good with butternut squash in place of the pumpkin. As I am an Aussie :-) I have been wondering if in the US pumpkin and squash are two different things ie is your butternut squash like our zucchini? (soft and mushy in the middle)We have butternut pumpkin (orange and firm in the middle). I don't want to be eating out of SCD stage one (Pecanbread's butternut squash) at present.CheersACIBS 13/3/09SCD 16/6/10no meds IBSpre-SCD Severe Depression
Guest guest
I also wondered about that when I was reading the Healing Foods cookbook that is written by an Australian author. I just looked it up and found " Butternut squash (Cucurbita moschata), also known in Australia and New Zealand as Butternut pumpkin[1], is a type of winter squash. " from :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butternut_squash.Similar info in other places. So I guess the butternut squash and butternut pumpkin are the same. I use it instead of pumpkin because pumpkin upsets my stomach.
