Guest guest
Kim, My doctor had just told me nothing strenuous for 6 weeks, but as far as sex went I guess that was up to me. I personally didn't feel like it for several weeks, between being tired all the time and my incision healing closed. Just be careful, I've been told that we can be more fertile after surgery and should really wait for 12 months at least. But everyone is different. Never be afraid to ask a question, I'm sure someone here has been through the same thing....lol. Guest guest
Kim, I am 31 and have been married for almost 6 years and that was actually one of the first questions I asked my surgeon...Although I had a Lap RNY, I was told to wait 1 month post-surgery because the staple line for my new pouch needed to heal properly. Not sure about an open surgery, but the torture went quickly and things were fine when I was able to have sex again. I was actually a little aprehensive because I didn't want to hurt anything, but everything was fine. in Delaware Lap RNY 3/10/04 261/178/
Guest guest
They kinda left it up to me, wanted me to wait at least a week I believe and then just not do anything too strenuous. I'm not sure about the ovary being removed though, that could change some of it. Don't be embarrassed Kim your doctor wants you to ask him! Guest guest
My surgeon said to do what you want, as long as you don't get too, um, energetic. No acrobatics. Let your partner do all the work. He walked in on one male patient, STILL IN THE HOSPITAL. He apologized, said carry on, and closed to door.
