Starlet,

Sorry to hear your feeling so bad. I'm hoping things will get better real

soon. Wonder if it's just a vitamin/mineral/nutrient kind of thing. Something

that your now lacking that you weren't before. The body is a complex system.

Wishing you lots of luck as you get through this. Take care and God bless!

Starlet, I'm so sorry you're not feeling well. The weight loss is

great, but not if you're not eating. There can be massive effects on

your body from not getting proper nutrition through both food and

vitamins. Good thing you're seeing the doc today, let us know what

happens. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

OMG gastric surgery is NOT going to bring on a disease like MS! I think

someone needs to find a new doctor. If a person is diagnosed with MS after

surgery it will be a coincidence or perhaps triggered but the surgery itself

does NOT cause diseases! People are often predisposed to certain diseases and

then things (including stress) can trigger it but diseases like MS are usually

genetic and not caused by something like surgery. They have done study after

study on gastric bypass patients and have found no ties between the surgery and

any diseases. Believe me if they did our insurance companies would be making a

big deal about it to deny the surgery. For anyone questioning the dangers of

the surgery I would say talk to your surgeon and also check out the

obesityhelp.com website.

Take care!

I would not be too freaked out. The odds that you have ms are very slight.

There are a lot of factors that go into why and when you get it. I am sure that

it is viral. The symptoms that you give are not the symptoms that my friend

displayed. I know everyone is different but I still would not worry. We have

given you what ms is but that is a worst case scenario. Wait to see what your

doc says.

There are a couple vitamin deficiencies that result in skin, digestive,

neurological, or muscular disorders.

For example, I have excerpted below some info for several nutrients in

the B complex.

I do not mean to scare anyone, just demonstrate that _some_ of the

symptoms people are having can _sometimes_ result from nutritional

deficiencies. As always, consult your surgeon.

Niacin (Vitamin B3) deficiency causes pellagra. The symptoms include

inflamed skin, digestive problems, and mental impairment.

Folic acid (Vitamin B9) deficiency may cause poor growth, graying hair,

inflammation of the tongue (glossitis), mouth ulcers, peptic ulcer, and

diarrhea. It may also lead to certain types of anemias.

Large doses of Vitamin B6 can cause neurological disorders and

numbness. Deficiency of this vitamin can cause mouth and tongue sores,

irritability, confusion, and depression.

Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) deficiency syndromes are characterized by sore

throat, swelling of mucous membranes, mouth and/or lip sores, anemia,

and dermatitis

Thiamine (Vitamin B1) deficiency can cause weakness, fatigue,

psychosis, and nerve damage. Thiamine deficiency in the U.S. is most

often seen in alcoholics, because heavy drinking limits the ability of

the body to absorb this vitamin from foods.
