Steph,

Look on the bright side, I have 14 more days to wait than you...(haha)

Yes, this waiting is driving me crazy. It does help though when I

realize that another 28 days of waiting is nothing compared to the

long road of 27 months in braces to get to this point. I am so

looking forward to being on the other side of this surgery. Well at

least we have a bunch of us in June going through this together to

keep each other company!

Best of Luck,

It is comforting that there are a bunch of us going through this!

And come to think of it....work is so stressful now that being in

the hospital for a few days...being waited on and getting legal

drugs sounds like a great vacation right now...(hehehe)

All kidding aside...best of luck to you and I'll let every one know

how this all goes down.

Hey! at least my tipped up nose will be fixed before it even

begins...the benefit of having a maxillofacial(sp?) surgeon instead

of an oral surgeon I guess!

Thanks for the good wishes. I am getting nervous again. I can't

believe this will be the last weekend for real food!! And wouldn't

ya know it every one keeps asking me if I want to go get icecream

since it's rather hot and muggy here in Michigan all of the sudden.

ICECREAM! AS if I won't have enough icecream in the weeks to come!

The thought of icecream right now just makes me want to HORK down

steak!

If it can make you feel better my mom keeps on trying to get me to

eat ice cream and i can't stand it. Let me put it to you this way,

it's one thing eating ice cream but eating liquidy mushy ice cream is

unappealing, at least to me. But hork down that steak! You'll miss it

for a while.

YOu may have shakes after surgery, but there is nothing like being

able to lick the ice cream off the cone. I can't wait until I can

open my mouth far enough to do that. Maybe another week or 2. :o)

I honestly had thoughts of backing out also, but then I just kept

reading the posts on this sight. I saw how many people got through

the surgery, and even if they started out rough, they ended up happy

with their results. I figured if everyone else can do it, then so

can I. So far, I have had a pretty uneventful recovery so I am happy

I did it right now. Things just continue to get better. i'm sure

you'll do fine.

Hey Caboose!

Being in control of your own pain meds will be a blessing!

My upper Jaw took only 3 hours. It's the nose that took 4 more.

They were doing so many different things to my nose to relieve my

breathing issues that the surgeon wanted to take his time. He told

me before I went in that this would be 7 hours. There was no one to

get that message to my poor husband who wore a path in the hallway

for two extra hours (The hospital had us scheduled until noon so he

went nuts from noon to 2:00).

best of luck to you!

Steph.

Yes Steph, it is a dream to be in control of my own pain meds

instead of relying on the nurses to get off the phone, etc. before

they come in to see why I am beeping them.

My husband will not be able to stay the entire night because I am

shipping him home to take care of the kids. My mom and dad couldn't

make it up from Baton Rouge until a few days after my surgery. I

will be okay as long as I have my board to write on and I will bring

a bell to make sure the nurses come in to see me..(haha) Heck if

that doesn't work maybe I will light some fireworks to get their

attention...(haha) My dream is that I will just sleep the entire

time, which hearing from all you post-opers, probably will not be

the case! I could of sent the kids over to friends etc., but we

still have a puppy that needs care, so either way my hubby will have

to go home & come back early the next morning.

Thanks for the best wishes, they will surely be needed very soon!!

Thanks Steph,

I hope you are feeling better as each day passes. Yes, you are

correct in that I am thinking of all of you at the head of the train

who have been brave enough to face their surgery and now are so kind

enough to even think about me to extend to me such kind thoughts and

wishes.

You are all the best!!
