Guest guest
Hi Rina Don't panic too much, probably it's harder to put an elastic over top of the one that's already there because there's less hook to put the new elastic on. When i had my surgery, my OS said to me several times that I would definitely have an elastic break (in the end I didn't, but that's not the point here!), and that if I did, it wasn't an emergency, to just come in the next day and they'd put new ones on. So if you take your old elastics off and really can't get new ones on, don't worry too much, just see your doctor as soon as you can and I'm sure it will be fine. I don't read the board that regularly anymore, so I have no idea how far post op you are (sorry!), but, you'll find that as swelling goes down, and your lips become more flexible, the whole elastics thing will become waaay easier; plus, the more you do it, the easier it gets, promise! It can be tricky those first few times, but it'll get easier. - > Today was my follow up appointment and my OS replaced my elastics with > 2 elastics one on each side that spans over about 4 teeth, it goes > right back to my molars. > I can't get them off much less even worry about getting them on. > I've thought about just cutting them, but I'm worried I can't get them > back on.
