Guest guest
Steve, Your surgical wires should not be hurting at all. If they are digging into your gums you may want to contact your OD or OS. That is strange that you had to have gas and shots for the wires. My OD is the one that put my surgical wires and hooks on, not my OS. The wires and hooks took a total of about 2 hours to install. My OD first put the surgical wires on and then marked where the hooks were to be placed. He then took the wires off and told me to come back an hour later. When I came back he had all the hooks attached to the wires. He then placed the wires with hooks on the brackets. It was not painful at all. The only discomfort I had was the bottom hooks which only bothered me for a day or so. Anyway, I hope this gets better for you and don't hesitate to contact your OS or OD if the pain continues! > > Hello everyone, > > Had my pre-op work done yesterday for my June 10th surgery.
