Guest guest
, I think we all go through a period of " shell shock " postop. What did I do? Especially as you go into the next couple weeks and all the funny aches and pains hit. Keep telling yourself---I will get better. In about a month it suddenly hits you that you feel " normal " instead of this butt dragging slug--recuperating from MAJOR surgery. Be good to yourself. Don't be lifting or doing anything to strain yourself. Just sip, walk, rest,----you come first!!! Welcome to switchville!!! Pammi
Guest guest
, Good to see you on the other side.... " the what have I done to myself " feeling is very normal technically I had it for over a month and was not a happy camper it was during that time that I kept reading a whole bunch of " I would do it over in a heartbeat " posts and thinking everyone on the list was a maschoist LOL....It gets better I remember I woke up the 5th week and I felt normal normal bm's everything was just normal and I remember that monday morning I forgot I had surgery and was bopping around and went to work....It will get better for you. Congratulations and rest, rest, sip and walk... *hugs* Lisbeth mkf5t@... wrote: Yes! I didn't die on the table! I'm switched and staying at the Mount Sinai Guest Residence. Still have a good amount of pain, but am proud to say that not only have I passed gas a few times, I've also had 2 tiny BMs. What worries me is that I still have a low- grade fever--around 1 or 2 degrees above normal. It has been slowly and steadily going down. Luckily, my pulse is nice and low; white blood count only a little high--so it doesn't look indicative of a leak. I met Peggy and Sheryl at the hospital. Sheryl was having trouble the first day a little bit, but looked much better toward her discharge day. Peggy, on the other hand, looked stellar the ENTIRE time. That woman is tough and has a fortitude and a cheerful attitute that I've not encountered in too many people. Wish I could say that about myself. Still a little freaked out about " what I've done to myself " . Probably cuz of the pain. Looking forward to talking to all you later! Guest guest
, I'm very happy that all went well for you. Congratulations and once you feel up to it, fill us pre-ops in on the details. I can't wait to hear about all your weight loss progress. It will keep me going and motivated til my surgery. Again, take good care of yourself and enjoy your losing streak. ann I'M ALIVE! Yes! Guest guest
Hi , I am in NYC and I just read your post about being at the Guest House. I remember that place WELL. I would call you and say hello, but I dont know your room number or your last name. I am glad things went well for you. I am at the Edison Hotel here in NYC. Number is , room 1710 if you would like to call and talk. I have been here most of the day because I have a pain in my side from something. My hubby is out walking the city though. I will be here until 7:30AM tomorrow morning. BTW, the Guest House has a shower seat if you need one. Just ask to borrow it. Guest guest
Hello right back! So glad to read your hubby's reports that you're OK! Technically in one piece, but my guts feel like they're hanging out--something akin to an alien pregnancy! Love, > > Yes! I didn't die on the table! Laying down my stomach is fairly flat, but standing up I have this fist size swelling above my belly button. My son wanted to see my stomach and said, " holy crap mom, you look like you are giving birth to an alien " . I stared him right in the eye and asked him exactly what he thought HE was! Guest guest
You're killin' me, Theresa! No, really! Ever since I started wiping my own ass, I've had a little additional discomfort in the belly area; so now, when I read your posts about stenches at the mall, I REALLY feel like I'm gonna bust a gut. You better stop or I'll have an accident all over the Sinai Residence's shitty recliner! BTW, only Yellow Pages here for me, baby--no Gideon's Bible at Mount Sinai, of course!! ;} > > Hello right back! So glad to read your hubby's reports that you're > > OK!
