Guest guest
I would say that you're doing everything correctly and doing well. You'll have your share of concerns and questions that come up, but since all is going well, enjoy it. Remember liquids are more easily digestable than solids, so they should go down easily. Just don't push it and keep doing what your doctor tells you. > Okay I know there are a bunch of us that have had this surgery done. > I am going on three weeks post-op and was wondering if any of you > were able to eat more than the 2-3oz at a time? Guest guest
My situation is sort of similar to yours. I have been (knock on wood) lucky thus far. I am almsot 6 weeks out. I am able to take in food at a reccomended amount and feel full (I think, it is so wierd to look at what a small amount satisfies me and the psychological kicks in and you think there is no way that was enough food, but it was!) and I have not had dumping, vomiting, or anything. I had a few knots in my chest type feelings in the beginning if I drank to fast, but that was about it. Maybe we should jsut consider ourselves really lucky? I look at what I eat and I am being fairly careful, but not a total watcher. Yes, it is true the past couple weeks I have lost my appetite, but I think it is because my body is just living on less and to me that is losing my appetite. SOunds silly, I know. I am still a rookie and learning everyday, but sounds like we are similar. Guest guest
Sounds to me like you are doing great. Not everyone has problems with eating or drinking. Once you get on more solid food you will be more full though and you will find the things you can and cannot eat very quickly! My advice to you is to introduce one food at a time and not get too confident that each food will agree with you because I found that whenever I thought my pouch was invincible was just when I would find the food that just made me feel terrible. For me it was red meat in the beginning. I could not eat red meat for the first 6 months. Glad to hear you have not had any probs thus far though! Happy healing to you!
