Anyone else on Bextra and does it work as well? ~~~~ When I read about Bextra on this group I asked my orthopaedic surgeon about using it instead of Celebrex. He's an agreeable chap and gave me some samples to try -- ohmygod, I was so sick. Stomach pains, vertigo, unable to function...after four days (a fair try, I though) I called him and went back to Celebrex. First thing in the morning I take a Prilosec, thirty minutes later I drink half my breakfast shake, take my Celebrex, then finish off my shake. So far, so good, but my fingers and legs are crossed! Hope things work out for you. Nina in Maine 325/205/??? 2/21/

Guest guest
My two cents says that my doc refused to let me try Bextra for the exact reasons sue said. She said it is in the same catagory as Celebrex and Vioxx, and she's not willing to let me risk a bleed for pain. At this point, loaded with arthritis, I just deal with it. Look into it before you take any one doc's opinion, they don't know everything, and it all boils down to it being YOU that suffers...not the doc if he was wrong. Regards~~ Jacque Sue, according to my surgeon it does not cause ulcers. Otherwise, he certainly would not recommend it. Is there anyone out there who has used Bextra and had an ulcer caused by the Bextra? I think there is sufficient evidence that Vioxx has caused ulcers, but what about Bextra? I may ask that question separately to the group... Cindy lap RNY 2/8/
