Guest guest
Wow , that's great! Every time I see my doc he recommends Remicade or Prednisone. When I tell him I'm feeling much better on the diet he usually says something about eating easy to digest foods and brushes off the idea of carbohydrates. I hope some day he will notice the difference like your doc did. Hopfully your doc can introduce other patients to SCD, and those patients will tell other people and doctors! ~ I have been on SCD since April 2008. I have had UC since 2006. I have tried all the drugs that are approved for UC and besides prednisone, nothing has worked. I still have a lot of symptoms but I am slowly getting better and believe I will be symptom free someday. When I started on SCD I brought a copy of BTVC it to my GI. She would not even look at the book because diet cannot heal UC. Since I still have symptoms, she recommends surgery every time I see her. I last saw her in April of this year and she still recommends J-pouch surgery. Well today she called me at work and wanted to know the name of the book and more info about SCD. She said she has more patients that may benefit from it. I am shocked and pleased that she is finely receptive to the idea. I am no longer the sick man who was hospitalized twice in 2007 but a trim, strong, healthy man who is winning the fight with UC! I think she finely noticed. I just wanted to share this. Guest guest
Fantastic news ! I'm glad you're seeing such good results, AND that you managed to influence your GI. Doctors can be so hard nosed!
