Hi, I've decided to start the SCD on the advice of my nutritionist. I don't have any diagnosed condition, but probably IBD since I will sometimes have diahhrea and am not digesting or absorbing all my food. Occasional gas can be a problem, however, it is much better with the food supplements I've been taking. I did get a blood test to check for food sensitivities and all dairy and eggs showed up big time! I love that stuff, but went off it for 2 months and noticed NO difference. I started to eat a little bit of very aged cheddar cheese and am making the SCD yogurt now. I've also had some eggs, without ill effect. So here are my questions (for now): Regarding the various "stages" - how can you tell whether to move on to the next stage of foods you can introduce? Just depending on how good you feel? Why is canned pumpkin illegal? If it is unsweetened, how is it that much different than fresh that you'd cook? I can get really good organic canned pumpkin all year round. I can't find much discussion as to WHY canned is illegal.I am not a red meat eater, and the thought of making jello with gelatin is not appealing. Does anyone know of an alternative way to make jello with legal ingredients?I too have asked my local grocer to check into DCCC. He said he'd get back to me within an hour. That was about 6 hours ago. Thanks!kt
