Hello Dee...I'm from Skowhegan also! You probably know my father, he

owns and runs LaCasse Shoe Repair on Water Street. Anyway, I have

heard of the surgeon you've gone to, but I've never actually had a

consultation with her. However, if and/or when you do check this site

again...please let me know how the surgery went. I can't remember

exactly what procedure you're having done, but I'd be great to hear

from someone who's just gone through this ordeal. Take care of

yourself and hope to hear from you soon.

What a small world :)! I have been to LaCasse before. I grew up in

North Anson and built a house here in Skowhegan in 2000.

Well, about the surgery, it went great! Dr. Winne was awesome. I

had a Leforte 1 Osteotomy (upper jaw) and it lasted about 3 hours.

They released me yesterday in time to make a 3:00 pm follow up at

her office in Augusta. I was a little weak, because eating is

difficult, but I'm getting better. I'm not in any pain, but am

having difficulty breathing. She said that is normal, because they

put tubes down your nostrils during surgery. It's like having a

cold, but since I can't open my mouth to breath it's a little

scary. Sleeping in an a/c'd room helped a lot. Last night (first

night home) I slept from 9:30 to 3:30 only waking up once. I

thought that was great.

When are you looking to get your surgery done? I would be happy to

answer any other questions that you have. We could even get

together if you want. I took a lot of pictures after the

surgery :) I hope to post them soon.

Sorry so short, but I'm getting a little tired now.
