Wow, you sure have been through the mill. As for the type of pain I have, it

starts out as a sort of burning hard pain in the upper abdomen. It's the

type of pain where you have to lay down in the fetal position until it passes.

The one time, which finally made me call the doctor, the pain did radiate to my

lower back, and I tossed my cookies a couple of times. I had a gallbladder

ultrasound a year ago, and they found nothing. Now, I know it was not only a

full year ago, but it could be a stone stuck in a bile duct, but the pain was

so sporadic at that time, and it always went away in about 1/2 hour, so I

basically ignored it until that one really bad time, which lasted about 3-4

hours.

For some reason, my doc doesn't think it's an ulcer, so I'm willing to try

the Nexium to see if it helps before getting scoped. I know many of us are on

Nexium, and it seems to be a pretty successful drug for us, but of course, it

depends on what the problem is.

Also, from people's experiences on here, we do know that a bowel obstruction

can be pretty hard to diagnose. I'm wondering if you might be getting a kink

in the intestines that seems to unkink itself occasionally. But, if that was

the case, I don't think you'd have pain every time you eat. I hope someone

else who's more familiar with the various doctors and tests has some ideas.

Good luck,

in NJ
