Guest guest
Here's the deal: I had my belt lipectomy on 9/08/03, and aside from a seroma in the groin which is slowly being absorbed, and the typical belly swelling, I have recovered terrificly from that. Had my labs done a couple of weeks ago, and everything was fine except for a low-normal ferritin of 54 (for which I have boosted iron supps.) So, for personal reasons, I have booked my breast reduction/breast lift & brachioplasty for 12/22/03 -- a sort of masochistic Xmas present to myself! LOL! Plastic surgeon (saw him Tuesday) says I am good to go. He confirmed that blood loss from these surgeries is minimal, so I am somewhat reassured about NOT depleting iron stores any further from these procedures (versus the bloodbath associated with belt lipectomy.) GYN (saw her yesterday) advised to protein load and up calories a bit (she's rather enlightened don't you think?) in prep for healing etc. Will see Dr. Gagner next week for 2nd annual, and I don't expect him to object. But having said all that, I am a bit nervous nonetheless about having these surgeries rather proximate to each other, just for wear and tear on body etc. Perhaps I am confusing nervousness with dread. Although right now, dread is being trumped by determination. Anyone out there have their plastics done this close together? Any advice/caution/words of warning & wisdom -- from one and all? Shouts of " Run for your life, dumbass! " are okay too. I really want to get a clear idea of what I am in for, potentially, if anything. Thanks, Lucille
