Turkey carcass soup

, years ago I read an article in the paper describing turkey carcass soup. The name is a bit off-putting, but the idea seemed good. So I tried it-----not one of my kids would eat it, and even my husband, who will generally eat anything, turned up his nose at it. I don't think it tasted bad; just the name grossed everyone out, including me! So the dogs got the broth & veggies, and the rest went in the trash. Since then I just pick off most of the meat & ditched the "carcass." Tomorrow I'm making a nice homemade turkey pot pie & that will be the end of it. I was planning to make a big pot of red beans, using the ham bone left from TG dinner, but my granddaughter tossed the bone in the trash after she had gnawed most of the meat scraps off it! She didn't realize that it would still make good beans. Now I've got to get some bacon or salt pork for my red beans & rice, with cornbread. Hmmmmmmm.

Thanks, Rose.....i just paint canvas nowadays. i can't lift rocks any more....lol. But i haven't painted one canvas yet this year. On Sunday hubby cooked the turkey carcass, with what meat was left on it, and made homemade turkey soup. It wasn't as good as mine...lol...but it'll pass. I am fighting a nasal infection right now probably brought on by the dryer air. So we got the humidifiers going and it seems to be easing up. add in the saline nasal spray, the script nasal spray and the air cleaners and i'll be up to my 'normal' by the end of the day. (cross your fingers and say a prayer) i'm sure this benefits everyone in the family(the humidifiers)...even the cats.....but i guess i notice it the most. ;) S.Life may not always be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we might as well dance!
