I bought monostat 3 and used it last night. I slept 4 hours and when I woke up, I had been scratching. Still itches and is sore now when I pee... I have to wait until tonight to use the creme again - that's so many hours away! Wahhhhh! I also bought some wipes with anti-itch lotion on it but I can use only 4 per day. Wahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Any advice? Thanks, dee __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Thanks, Lisbeth! Actually I don't have a gyno right now. I used to but I'm just not comfortable with him any longer. It's a long story that I posted previously but the gist of it is he is definitely not kind to the obese (or at least not to me!). Plus he used to sneak around our apt complex to visit his girlfriend. He would park at the complex next door, leap over the fence next to my apt and go to her place. One night he was ticked off at her and stood in the driveway yelling, " you whore " , and other lovely things. (Like who was he to talk - at least she wasn't married!) Anyway, he got a divorce and moved in with her and they now provide a free sex show to anyone who looks up towards their apartment. And he yells at her alot, like telling her to take out the garbage - she has one minute, move it, move it, move it! I've seen them walking down their stairs, she with her hands full of garbage, books, a water bottle and her purse and he walks down carrying a cell phone. I just don't like him. Soooo, I guess I gotta find another GYN! Thanks, dee --- L J wrote: > > Call the gyno! I never try and self-diagnose > anything south of my neck! Guest guest
Hi Dee: I am scheduled for upper jaw surgery on June 28th. I will be banded shut after surgery, not wired. My OS has given me a letter to give to my employer stating that I will need to be off of work for 2 weeks. He stated to me that the first week will be the toughest and then after that things will steadily improve. I was hoping that the surgery would of been during the school year so I wouldn't of had the kids around, but then again, I can put them to work helping me around the house. I am sure having your mom around for at least a week or two would surely help in your recovery since your husband has to work. My husband is taking off of work for 2 weeks. Hope this helps and keep me posted on your preparation for the surgery. I am sure starting in late June you will begin the fun pre- op appts. I am almost done with these appts. Best of Luck, > I'm scheduled to have upper jaw surgery on July 18. I'm nervous about > recovery, because I have two kids and I'm the primary care giver. Guest guest
Hi , My husband will be off the first week after surgery, and could take the second if necessary. My OS is concerned with my kids seeing me after surgery (when I had my palatal expander in 03 I swelled up really bad and for a longer time than usual) I think having my mom and husband around will be great. How old are your kids and how many do you have? Did you have a palatal expander too? I start the whole pre-op process the end of June. It will be here before we know it. My surgery was suppose to happen in April, but my teeth weren't in the right position. Then I was told September and then I just found out last week it's July. Hopefully I can relax in a lounge chair around my pool(if it ever stops raining and warms up!) Dee > > I'm scheduled to have upper jaw surgery on July 18. Guest guest
Hi Dee, My girls are 14 and 11, so they are a bit older than your kids. Yes, I have heard from my OS that the swelling can be massive after surgery, so I can see your concern. Being that my kids are a little bit older, I have been able to show them pictures of patients recovering so they will not be to alarmed when I arrive home from the hospital. My surgeon stated that I will probably only need care for about a week after surgery, but my husband is throwing in another week for himself for vacation! I see you have went through the same roller coaster ride that I went through. I was originally informed that I would be having the SARPE surgery like you when I first started treatment. Then about a year ago I was informed that I may not need surgery. A day before my knee surgery last summer my OD informed me that I was back on for surgery and would be needing a Lefort I instead of the SARPE. The first surgeon I went to back in November left me hanging for 4 months and finally ended up writing me a letter stating that my case was to complex for him to handle. So this set surgery back about 7 months. When I met with my present surgeon this past March he stated that he wanted a space between the upper teeth where he would be segmenting the upper jaw. ARGHHHH!! I have been in braces since March 2003. I also wore braces for 3 years when I was younger and had an expander in. The expander I had in didn't require surgery nor did I have to turn the screw. It's been a long 5 years for me dental wise because I have had 10 root canals, 3 apico's, one dental extraction, braces, and an upcoming surgery during this time. So I am more than ready to see an end in sight. Well almost an end. Once the braces come off I will still need about 7 crowns. But at least the major work will be over with!! Wow, you have your own pool!! That sure will be nice this summer recovering by the pool! Yes, I know what you mean by warming up and stop raining. It has been cool up here in the northeast and seems to rain quite a bit. I am sure in another month we will be wishing it was cooler..(haha) Take Care, > > > I'm scheduled to have upper jaw surgery on July 18. Guest guest
, I'm not as concerned with my son who is ten, but my daughter is four and I don't want to scare her. I'm leaving it up to my husband and mother as to when they see me. I know after my surgery for the palatal expander in October 03 my son was a little scared. Wow, sounds like you've had quite a rollercoaster too! You've been through a lot! I started in October 03 with the palatal expander surgery. It took a while for swelling to go down and it was about five weeks before I could chew again. My swelling was really bad. They said normally it takes 2 weeks to return to normal...guess I'm not normal (well, I knew that anyway ) Then I got my braces Feb 03, and had the expander removed March 31, 2003. Boy was I glad to get rid of that ! I have to say that my teeth look awesome now and I'm very happy. I just can't wait to get the other surgery over with! You say you are from the Northeast...where? I'm from central Maine. Today is the first ok day we've had in I don't know how long! Enjoy the long weekend. Keep me posted on your progress. Take care. Guest guest
We have about 65 degrees today. The warmest it's been for a while. I just walked up to get my mail and it started to sprinkle. Maine is beautiful and usually this time of year we are able to wear shorts every day and it's warm, but this year has been so strange. Oh well. The old saying goes, " Wait a minute and the weather will change! " . We were suppose to go to my son's baseball game this morning, but it was raining so it was canceled. My husband and son took off to go to my in-laws camp and I stayed home to scrapbook with our daughter. I love to crop. I think in the newspaper earlier this week there was an article that out 24 days in May here in Maine we'd only had 4 or 5 non-rainy days. I certainly believe it. Everyone is getting depressed around here. My lawn looks like it's ready to be hayed! Too bad I didn't have a horse. My daughter and I have big plans to watch Empire Falls on HBO. I know she'll fall asleep, but I can finish watching it. Some of was filmed in our Home Town and other surrounding towns. It will be neat to pick out the spots. We'll chat later. > > > > > > I'm scheduled to have upper jaw surgery on July 18. Guest guest
Dee, Yes, I have only 3 weeks left remaining, so when I have my surgery you will be at the point I am now with 3 weeks to go. Go enjoy your day! The weather here in Virginia is nice! I have been up early this morning trying to finish up this essay for school so I can also get out and enjoy the day! Guest guest
, I'll be anxious to hear from you post surgery so you can prepare my 3 week pre-surgery countdown. I'm going to " live " it up the weekend before. I'm going away scrapbooking to hopefully get my mind off things! I hope you get your essay done so you can get outside and enjoy the rest of the day! We are suppose to get rain the beginning of the week again..YUCK! We've had our fair share lately. Fortunately, this week has been great. I was thinking yesterday when we were driving to camp for the day about post-surgery clothes. I usually wear t-shirts during the summer and they don't button down the front. I doubt with swelling that I'll be able to pull them over my head. Maybe I could do a tank top as long as the opening was large enough? Have you given that any thought? Am I thinking too much about this? ( I hope to be recovering mostly in my bathingsuit by the pool, but I can't leave the hospital like that!!!!) I don't have to have dress clothes, because I work from home. I better go get some lunch. Enjoy the day. Guest guest
Sara, Considering I have six weeks to go, I thought maybe I was thinking too much. My husband calls me anal all them time...I just say I try to be organized ! He always forgets everything...so I have to remind him. I'm sure you will look fine strutting your stuff around the hospital! Best of luck tomorrow. Can't wait to hear from you after surgery.
