Guest guest
OK, I know I need to research but it's been a complete blast not needing to turn to the Google gods for a while now since I have been bouncing back from this water bacteria I caught.. You'd think I was traveling in the deep boonies of the Amazon. Like seriously?! Anyway.. I have very high B12 levels again. I had this happen to me before when I was on Pentasa. No meds besides LDN. For a few months now I no longer get B12 shots. I was getting them routinely post bowel surgery because the part of the bowel that absorbs the B12 was removed. Still, it is high. I get weekly IV's and it contains Bcomplex. Can there be a reason for very high B12 numbers? Thanks! Jodi
Guest guest
Jodi, I just had this discussion with my IM doctor today. I also did the nutritional IVs for a long time, and I think they are what kept me alive and my adrenals functioning for more than a year. I've only done a few this year and my latest blood work showed that my B-12 and Folate levels were high. My doctor said that was because the blood tests only the inactive form of B-12 and not the methylcolbamin form that we actually metabolize. He said I could have a " high " level in my blood of the inactive form and still not have enough of what I need. I guess I'm back to taking my B-50 complex every day.
