Hey all,

I was just curious to know what you guys were told regarding Alcohole use

and Smoking. I know what my doctor has told me but I was curious to know

what you guys heard and what you smokers have been doing to deal. Let me

know! Thanks!

Hope all is well!

I quit smoking the day I put my braces on which was 6 and half months

ago. It was hard to do because I've been smoking since I was 15 (I'm 27

now) but I succeeded and I'm so pleased I did. Now, I don't want this

to turn into a lecture on quitting smoking but try holding off on the

smoking as much as possible, or at least until all your stitches come

out. The nictone and tartar can get trapped inside the mouth and

doesn't make for very good hygiene.

As for alcohol, my doctor told me not to have any for at least 2 weeks

which I thought was a very short time. I have decided I'm going to try

and go for a month without it because of my swelling. Alcohol is known

to cause swelling on any given day so lord knows what could happen to

me now that I am post-op. I just know that by the time I get back home

to Italy I'll be a cheap drunk. I can just seem myself rolling down the

hills in Tuscany as I sip away on my boyfriend's wine. Lol. As

the " unofficial " caboose would say, I'm a mess!
