Guest guest
I was wondering the same thing. What does this stuff do? Does it take the wrinkles off also?...(haha) > > , > > > > Thanks for the hugs:-) I do feel better knowing that I am not the > only > > one hitting brick walls of this sort. Guest guest
Hi Arnica cream is a homeopathic treatment available in gel/cream/pill form. It is not precription! You can pick it up at any health food/herbal supplement store. It's relatively inexpensive too. I got my gel that came with 80 pills for 10$ (Canadian). It's meant for swelling, bruising and tightness of the muscles. I am now 6 weeks post op and only started using it recently. The gel you use 3 times a day and just apply it right onto the face. I too am swollen lopsided, one side looks a lot worse than the other. Since I've been using it I've noticed my muscles are a lot less stiff which allows more movement. As for the swelling can't really say if it's helped much yet as it's too soon. I've been reminded every time I nag my surgeon about my swelling that it can take 6 months to as long as a year for the residual swelling to go away. I'm not sure how far post op you are, but the bulk of the swelling goes away in the first 3-4 weeks after that it's a slow process. You don't notice the day by day change in your face that you did over the first few weeks. Patience I guess. Guest guest
, even though I replied to you direct via email I'm going to post for everyone else's benefit. The arnica cream you have been hearing about and which I use is a homeopathic cream that is made from a plant called arnica montana. You can do a google search on it and find a bunch of information. Basically it's good to minimize swelling and bruising. I actually took arnica pills prior to surgery and as a result was able to avoid any bruising at all minus one spot under my chin. I've been applying the cream to my more puffy side since yesterday and it seems to be working because I am less lopsided. My mom actually got me my cream from Italy, which is where we're from but I am sure you can find it here in the US as well since Matt has been using it. Maybe not in a standard pharmacy but in a specialized pharmacy or maybe a homeopathic shop you should be able to find it.
