my son still has a tilt which is starting to worry me a bit more as I see him leaning on one hip a bit and tilting as he does everything so I am looking into going to PT more often like 1x a week, so far the 2 PT we have seen have only had us come about 1 x a month, (its been about 4 months now) but the current one did say it is because she is too busy! (childrens nuerodevelopment program) so she reccomended another PT also. So anyway I am hoping that will help. Also I am looking into having xrays done, which have never been ordered, to rule out bony abnormalities, have you had xrays done? and its also good to have the eyes checked if you have not done that, my son has had his checked due to other concernes, and has a follow up for that this week also. le 8 mosFrom: stippy524 <stippy@...>Subject: Done with band..but still dealing with the tiltPlagiocephaly Date: Saturday, January 30, 2010, 8:20 PM

Is anyone else in this situation? We graduated from the bands (we have twins) almost 2 months ago already and their head shapes are great. But with our daughter we are still dealing with the tilt, it is really not improving much. She goes to PT once a week and we do stretching and exercises at home. They did some taping of her shoulder this week which did seem to help. I'm not really comfortable going to a chiropractor, which I know many people have suggested to me. Jsut wondering what you are doing if you still have a stubborn tilt to deal with after the helmet is off.

No we have never had her eyes checked, and we have not had xrays. Why are the

eyes a concern? The pedi, PT and DOC band place never mentioned that. We go to

PT once a week and have since about 3 months old. I am hoping with continuing

that and continuing our home routine it will eventually work itsself out. The

PT said as long as a child looks good (with their head no longer tilting) when

they start walking, they feel pretty confident that it is resolved. She is 9

1/2 months old now and youc an really notice it when she crawls. She has her

head tilted to the left and she often looks down when crawling. But she does

use her left arm/hand very often, as much if not more than her right, so it

doesn't seem to be detering her from using that side. I just want her to be

back to 'normal' and to be ok!

New here... I currently have one of my 6 month old twin girls in a Hanger

helment. Seeing great results already, we are very pleased and she has not be

phased by it all :)

Just wanted to comment on the tilt... my older daughter had tort (no head shape

issues just the tilt) we started PT at around 5 months. Our therapists said it

is very typical with tort kids to see the tilt seem to worsen as they gain new

skills, ie.. sitting, crawling etc. becaus they are working so hard on the new

skill their muscles naturally resort back to the tilt. I did see that happen

with my daughter and it would always get better in a few days to a week. Once

she started walking the tort did completely resolve itself... just like my PT

said it would. So don't give up hope :)

its a good idea to rule out other causes of tort, including bony abnormalities and occular tort. these are not as common but possibilites. The tort can take a long time to correct, and they say as they are learning different milestones it can reappear. From: stippy524 <stippy@...>Subject: Re: Done with band..but still dealing with the tiltPlagiocephaly Date: Sunday, January 31, 2010, 8:40 PM
