Guest guest
Good news, today I managed to eat more! Hip hip hooray. I had three full bowl of soups, two cans of pineapple juice, a whole bottle of apple juice and chocolate pudding which was was delish. Very pleased. Swelling has continued to go down but suddenly this evening my mother noticed I was also turning yellow. I know that this is simply the lymphatic fluids flowing down into my system as the swelling goes down so it's a good sign but still, i now look like a yellow chipmunk. very sexy. i'm sure the fiance will love it tomorrow AM when he arrives. I am so happy! Feels like my reward for going through with surgery. I know, I'm silly. Something happened today that I totally did not expect and that I feel I should warn you all about. My mom's always laughing at me when I talk because she can't understand a thing and she says I remind her of when I was little and used to potter around the house talking to myself. Well at a certain point I said something and she couldn't help herself and burst out laughing. I realized how funny I sounded so I started laughing as well. Within about 3 seconds of me laughing I felt this deep searing pain rip right through my cheeks and lips. What ever you do, DO NOT LAUGH for at least the first week post- surgery. I started crying from how much it hurt (I do not cry easily from pain usually, as in i'm the type of girl that grabs the hot kettle off the stove without an oven mit and doesn't wince) and my mother was mortified. Moral of the story - short contained smiles and no laughter is advisable. How sad I know. Ok, that's enough from me for today. I'll try to get the fiance to take some more pics of me over the weekend and post them for you and maybe you can see the yellow tinge of my lovely complexion:-) Have a great weekend everyone and Becky if you see this, I'm thinking of you! Steve, a warm hug to you as you are hopefully recovering soundly in the hospital post-surgery. Sara
Guest guest
Laughing hurts, and when you start getting sensation back in your eyes, crying is hell. Burns like fire for me. Can I just say that I want a hamburger? Jayar
Guest guest
Lol Jayar..I hadn't even thought to crave a burger and now I'm here salivating. My eyes thankfully are the one part that does not hurt on my face. Only on the first day post-op they were watering like crazy but now they are fine. I've even been able to wear contact lenses since day 3 post-op. not bad. Sara > Laughing hurts, and when you start getting sensation back in your > eyes, crying is hell. Guest guest
Sara, I can completely relate to your laughing story. I learned that lesson the hard way, too. Sorry that I didn't share it. I hope you are having an AMAZING time with your guy! Tell him hi from all of us! Carol > Good news, today I managed to eat more! Hip hip hooray.
