Guest guest
Joanne - While I was in Florida for my Dad's funeral, my 86 year-old Mom told me she would love to come to Idaho and nurse me back to health when I have my surgery! I was thrilled and accepted her offer, although she had no idea what type of care I will be needing. I told her I will be blending all my food and she was shocked, as she assumed I would be able to open my mouth and chew! But, she intends to come and stay with me for 4 to 6 weeks. (I have 13 weeks of short- term disability so I fully intend on using some of it.) I also have some friends who intend on helping with different tasks and I have the best nextdoor neighbors who will do whatever is asked of them./Diane > I have a very good friend of the family who's expressed willingness to > help while I'm in the hospital and when I get home. Guest guest
Joanne I had a bunch of people lined up to help me post-op. I have had a great recovery, so after about day 1, i sent everyone away except for my boyfriend. Provided you have a smooth recovery, you will be surprised how much you are actually able to do on your own. It was actually better not to have a bunch of people around because they would all try to talk to me. On the other hand, it is good to have someone there in case you don't feel so well, or some type of emergency comes up. > I have a very good friend of the family who's expressed willingness to > help while I'm in the hospital and when I get home.
