Hi there - Well, today I went to see my wonderful OMS(OS)to get my

stitches removed from my extraction site, and guess what? - I didn't

have any to be removed! It seems that the extraction was so easy,

that he didn't have to put any stitches in! I asked him about his

preference about the braces, as suggested to me by Sara, and he said

it was up to me and my OD; he says that he has done the surgery on

patients with both types(metal and ceramic)and has had no problems

with either. So, on Tuesday when I go into the Ortho Consult, I'll

know what to ask for. At the end of my appointment, my surgeon

said " see you in 6 months " ; I said " see you in June for my Surgery

Consult " and then I told him I wanted to get the show on the road so

I could be underbite-free as soon as possible, preferably by next

Fall. You should have seen the shocked but happy look on his face!!

He says if I get braces on very soon, and the teeth move as he

expects them to, I will be going to surgery next summer (July or

August). WOW!! (I think he was a bit shocked that I'm so enthusiastic

about all this - I've thought about this long enough and it's time to

get it done!). I gave him some info about this site and gave him a

copy of one of the Digests I had printed up so he could read the

incredible amount on info and advice you wonderful people provide -

he says he'll read it and check out this group./ So, it's off to the

OD on Tuesday for the consult. Thank you very much for your advice

and info. / Diane (the Idahoan)
