Guest guest
Hi Dan,If they will send you a letter with their heading on it stating what is in their hot dogs that would be the best option.Let us know!thanks,BelleSubject: New SCDer here, Applegate Farm Hot Dogs? To: BTVC-SCD Date: Sunday, June 13, 2010, 9:43 PM My 3 year old son is on the SCD diet for severe Crohns disease. I have called applegate farms regarding the ingredients for "the great one" hot dog. All the ingredients including the spices seem to check out ok for the SCD diet since there is no added sugar, grain product, or starch. Can anyone confirm this or provide an additional opinion? I tried the search option in this group but could not find the answer I was looking for. Thanks in advance. Dan
Guest guest
If they will send you a letter with their heading on it stating what is in their hot dogs that would be the best option.I'm not sure it's worth trying. Guest guest
Hey :)wait, didn't someone just nix this? I think Eileen said she did the long conversation with them and their spices come premade and they can't trace whether or not they have anti-caking agent in them? and she thinks they do from a reaction she had? I wish I knew how to post a link to that thread here (how do you do that??) it's entitled " just sent an email to applegate " or something and in my email it's dated may 30th but I guess that's the date of the last post in the thread not the first. best! Yeah. I guess I should've been more clear in my response =) I meant to indicate that it didn't work out, since they only sent me an email and didn't get me a written letter, but I guess the email they sent me made it sound like their products are okay, which they're not!! Thanks for clarifying =) Cheers!Alyssa 16 yo UC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)Azathioprine 75 mg 1x per dayPrednisone 20 mg 1x per day
