Guest guest
Good luck Mark ;-). I'm sure you are nervous. Glad to hear you put on some weight even though not enough. I hope this works for you completely. You could put all the yahoo groups to 'read on the web' only so you don't get emails. Then later on, down the line if you wanted to you could read up on what's going and let us know how you are doing. It's too bad scd/ldn didn't work fast enough to get you out of this. Hope you have a fast and easy recovery. Debbie 41 crohn's houston, tx Hi, as i posted a few weeks ago im getting my colon fully removed and it will be happening this week. I recently tried SCD and LDN as an attempt to hopefully avoid surgery but ive just been so bad the past couple of years its taken its toll on me and i pretty much havent been able to leave my house for 2 years. Medications havent worked and as i still believe in the scd diet i havent got the time needed to do it to avoid this surgery as scd takes time to work and i was just losing too much weight while on it as the intro and stage 1 foods arent exactly gonna boost your weight up, i did try making almound flour bread and muffins but dont think i was tolerating them nor the yogurt either. I'm now about 2 and a half weeks back to normal diet and have put on a little bit more weight but still felling just as bad. I was told coz of my weight that my recovery will take longer than usual maybe 3 weeks before i get home and that theres a chance of complications coz of how sick i am right now and how underweight i am. Hopefully there wont be any complications and il be feeling better sooner rather than later. The docs said i will get my life back after surgery and il be able to go back to work, sports, socialising etc the only difference il have a bag for life but il get used to that after a few months im sure, at least no more worrying about toilets which is a plus. Its a pitty i didnt know about scd a long time ago and maybe i wouldnt be worrying about getting surgery right now but thats the way life is. who do you blame the doctors?? i dunno really but its obvious scd should be a part of the treatment for chrons & uc sufferers. Anyway il have to decide if im gonna go back on scd when i fully recover from surgery, They will have me on some sort of feed after the op they said, so im not really sure about how things will go food wise after the op. I'l probably leave the BTVC group, Pecanbread group, and LDN groups before i go into hosp as il have no internet access and as you all know hundreds of emails come in everyday and i wont be able to read them all when i get home.. Guest guest
Heya Mark, I wish you the best of luck and health.. I too, wish I would of found the SCD sooner. I too ended up with extensive surgery... sometimes, I just ponder the possibilities of " IF " I did the diet sooner. I think though part of it has to work in the individual's cosmology.. Mark, Been there with the serious surgery. We can place you on web only if you'd like, and then, when you are feeling up to it, you can put yourself back to receiving emails. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
