Guest guest
Hi , I had upper/lower surgery one year ago, June 2nd. When it was time for my splint to come out, it was really no big deal. Just a few snips of the wires that were used to hold the splint to the wire on my upper braces. It was a great feeling to have it out. I was allowed to brush my teeth right there in my OS's office. I still had to wear a few rubber bands, but not as many as when the splint was on. As far as eating food goes, ask you surgeon what you are allowed to have. After my splint was removed and my OS told me what I could and could not eat, he told me I could go to my OD and have my surgical wire and hooks removed. Needless to say, I made an appointment immediately. Best wishes and good luck to you!
