Eileen, I am not giving you advice here but I wanted to let you know a friend of mines experience. She was doing a trip to Mexico and got montezumas revenge. Her ND said to take up to 6 an hour until it stopped. Your not dealing with the same but maybe there is room to play with the amount. I also had another friend that was doing chemo and took several an hour while she had her bouts diahrrea. Katy

1 a day doesn't do much in my experience. Increase to two a day and consider 3

a day,

maybe more.

But don't just jump to 3 directly in case of die off.

I found 3 a day really worked well for me - but everyone has to figure out their

own

ideal dose. Some people take up to 8 a day. Also, ignore what it says about 4

weeks -

this is something he might take indefinitely - at least for a while and since no

other

probiotics are working for him at the moment. Several months.

As for yogurt - did he try starting with 1/8 of a teaspoon every 3rd day or so?

Or once a week?

Meanwhile, are there any symptoms which are improving - even secondary symptoms

he didn't

realize or know for sure were connected to his UC? If so, be happy about those

in the short term

while you wait for other healing to kick in.

> My son has been on S. Boulardi now for almost three weeks and has seen little

to no change in his diareaha. He has been taking one a day in the evening on an

empty stomach. He also has returned to the Intro. Diet, currently on day two and

planning on doing it for four days. We keep trying different things but so far

the diareaha is persistent. He had also started a SCDolphilus one week after the

SB but just this week stopped, thinking that that could be introducing to much

too soon. So here are my questions:

> 1. How long should he stay on the S.Boulardi? The bottle recommends a 4 week

period but we are almost to that point with no change. We were really hoping to

see some firming up in his stools from this but it has happened so far...

> 2. Should he increase to more than one per day?

> 3. Does gas grilling your meat interfere with the diet in any way? No

charcoal, only gas.

> 4. When oh when should we get the yogurt into him? Here again, any attempt to

introduce it causes stools to go worse and gurggling.

When I started taking two before each meal -- as the bottle says you should, the difference was stark. n-- Now available.
