Guest guest
PF Changs accommodates people with food allergies and also has a gluten-free menu. I needed to go to an event there and the challenge was SCD. I also did not want to make a big deal about my food issues, particularly with guests I did not know well. I e mailed the manager " " about SCD and also my peanut allergic daughter. She was no problem, but the issue for me was that they pre-marinate their meats. We got around this by making a dinner reservation and pre-ordering my meal.I could not have their traditional dishes. I got plain, unmarinated stir fried (in olive oil) beef with a side of their " Buddah's Feast " - steamed vegetables without the tofu. The vegetables were broccoli, asparagus, carrots, and snow-peas. They used to have baby corn in this dish but they left it out of mine. When I got there, they handed my daughter a peanut free menu, and met me and took care of my order which they brought out with the other dinners. I didn't even have to explain things in front of the guests. No body noticed. Naturally, my meal was not as yummy as the others, but it was good, safe, SCD legal, and we had a wonderful time, and I did not feel like I had to be different at all.
