Which is worse, upper or lower surgery?

I'm just getting braces on next week. Then a year later I will have my

upper maxilla moved forward about 5mm. This sounds fairly minor

compared to some of the postings on this group. Does anyone know

whether a less intensive surgery actually translates into a less

unpleasant experience, or is it all the same?

Thanks,

Sure.. the less cutting the better. Upper jaw swelling goes down

slower than lower jaw, but the numbness has a higher chance of

permanently resolving. Either way, it's better than getting both,

like what I had :).
