Guest guest
Well, the other reason I know it's not coming from my address book is because I put an " X " before each name in my address book. Of course, that's not realistic for those that have a ton of names in their addy books, but at least I narrowed it down a little bit. Also, from the number of posts on this list, it sure looks like it's taking the names right off the Grad list membership. I'm not computer savvy enough to know how to correct this, but this list is getting far more than my other lists. in NJ ****************************** In a message dated 8/26/2003 9:45:36 AM Eastern Daylight Time, raggedy@... writes: > , we have no way of knowing who really has the virus as the way it > works, it not only sends itself TO addresses in the address book it sends > itself FROM one of those addresses. Guest guest
I think either their address books have been hit or they are in someone else's address book that's been hit. It's a good thing that Yahoo doesn't allow attachments. in NJ ************************* > I am not understanding the posts that say see attachments. Guest guest
Well, since a bogus post came through from my email addy, and I run a Live Update and scan almost every day, chances are it either hit someone's address book with me in it or it hit this list. And, from the looks of it, I think it grabbed this list. I know you guys don't see this, but we're also getting a lot of emails like this from people who are still on moderation. Those we can just delete, but for the rest of us, the posts go right to the list. in NJ >
Guest guest
, we have no way of knowing who really has the virus as the way it works, it not only sends itself TO addresses in the address book it sends itself FROM one of those addresses. You don't have the virus and I don't have it but a lot are getting the letters with our addresses as the senders. One thing we have to do is stay cool. I got some nasty letters last week, that to be honest, hurt my feelings from people telling me my computer was infected and to stop sending them the virus and take their names out of my address book. I didn't even know them. Guest guest
I just had an idea, and I don't know if it's too late, or even if it would work, but if those of you with the OSSG group addresses in you books, why don't you put an X or + or something in from of thosee adresses in your books. That way, it won't go to the list. All you have to do is remember to delete that letter/number before you send your post. I'm sure some people won't want to be bothered, but it's just a thought. in NJ
